Welcome to MadsOnline.net! Our goal is to provide Mads fans with as much information as we can without them having to spend hours scouring the 'net.

We are still under construction and will be adding more features in the coming weeks. If you have any suggestions or information you would like to share, you can find our email address on the Contact page.

While Mads Mikkelsen is well known in his native Denmark, most of the world is just now discovering him after his portrayal of Le Chiffre in the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royale. I first discovered him in the 2004 production of King Arthur, in which he played Tristan, the lone scout with the deadly aim. From there I made it a point to find out more and was increasingly impressed with each new Mads role.

So my friends and I have decided to dedicate this site to the gifted Mr. Mikkelsen and share our admiration with fellow fans who appreciate his talents as much as we do. (And maybe pull a few more into the Madsness while we're at it!)

8/22/08 ~

• More new photos from Valhalla Rising are up on the News & Interviews page! I've also added a new Valhalla Rising album to the Gallery.

• You will also find a new album for the Danish mini-series Julie in the gallery. As well as new additions to a couple of the other areas. Look for the icon for new pictures. These are all thanks to staff member, Kia! I will be uploading more as I sort through them.

8/16/08 ~

• More photos from Valhalla Rising are up on the News & Interviews page! WOW!! I can't wait for this movie! A warning for the squeamish...some pictures are a bit graphic.

• I would also like to welcome our new staff member, Kia, our new Scandanavian correspondent who will be keeping us updated on Mads news from Denmark & Sweden. We will be getting some gallery updates from her soon. (As soon as I upload the photos!)

8/5/08 ~

• We have a new Valhalla Rising page featuring the video diary of Saskia, an assistant to director, Nicolas Winding Refn. Saskia gives a rare peek behind the scenes of a movie set and we may even get a few glimpses of Mads, too. So be sure to check out her Video Diary page!

• I've updated the Filmography page with a few more films. You can find individual pages for After the Wedding, Adam's Apples and Pusher 2. These are still under construction but they have the links, photos and videos.

• I've been updating the Filmography page. The King Arthur and Open Hearts pages are complete. And you'll find a few more links to pages that are partially finished. We are working on the synopsis' but there are video clips and links, as well as pictures from Casino Royale, Exit and Prague. I hope to add more soon!

• I've also added to the Links page. Click on the Top Male Celebrity Fansites link and rate our site.

• We've finally had more news on what looks to be Mads' next project - Coco & Igor. Check the News & Interviews page for what's happening with that.

7/1/08 ~

Well, it has been a bit quiet for the last month, but we have some exciting news -

• First of all, you may have noticed the little award button at the left. MadsOnline.net has been chosen as the Celebrity Site of the Day by Celebrity Links and will be the featured site on July 15, 2008.

• Even more exciting than that, is the fact that filming has begun on Valhalla Rising! This film has been a long time coming and I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to happen. But we have been informed that Mads and crew are braving the elements in the Scottish Highlands and this film is finally being made. Which leads me to the next bit of news...

• Staff member Jacqui has been in contact with Johnny, an extra in Valhalla Rising, and he has agreed to keep us updated and given his permission to post the news here. You can find his first report on our new Valhalla Rising ~ On Set page.

Sorry for the lack of updates! It's been a bit slow on Mads news...but he has finished filming Past Perfect (Die Tuer/The Door) in Germany and word has it is finally about to begin the long talked about Valhalla Rising.

• Also pictures from Mads' appearance at The Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game and Film Convention in Malmö, Sweden added.

• More fan-made videos have been added to the Multimedia page video pod. I've also added a new video strip of Mads in commercials and music videos for charity from Danish television.
• A brief biography has been added to the About Mads page.

I also want to thank everyone for the great comments in the Guestbook! I hope to keep updating regularly!

• Flame & Citron (Flammen og Citronen) premiere Tuesday, March 25 - pics and video on the News & Interviews page!
• Adding new pages to the Filmography page for each movie - added Torremolinos 73 and Angel of the Night.

• The Gallery is up! Lots of photos and screencaps to browse. I'll be adding more as I sort through my files.
• New videos added to the Multimedia page video pod.
• Mads' new movie Flame & Citron (Flammen og Citronen) is set to premiere in Denmark on March 28th. Expect news and photos from that. If there are any Danish friends out there, we would love a review!
